Samsung’s 7 Years Old Device Has Just Received A New Firmware

At the time, Samsung’s Galaxy J family of smartphones was one of the best sellers in the company’s entire catalog, and therefore one of the most important for the firm along with the Galaxy A series. This series’ disappearance does not indicate that Samsung has completely forgotten about it. In reality, the business still provides support for a few particular models today.

On this occasion, Samsung has decided to send a new software update aimed at one of the latest models of the Galaxy J family. This is the Samsung Galaxy J7, a phone launched in 2015, which seven years later, is updated again.

As indicated in XDA, the Galaxy J7 has begun to receive an update in several regions of Asia. The update comes with firmware J700FXXU4BVG2 or J700HXXU3BVG2, depending on the model, it is aimed at improving the functioning of the GPS system

Beyond that, there don’t seem to be any other major changes in this version. The device’s software is still based on Android 6 Marshmallow with the security patch of April 2018.

It is likely that there are not too many people around the world using this mythical device, but those who still do, will undoubtedly appreciate the improvements introduced by the update. At the moment, the new version is only available in specific regions of Asia, but it is expected to end up reaching the whole world over the coming weeks.
