Samsung also anticipates the release of security patches by Google this time and updates the Samsung Galaxy S21 series. The update is in distribution with G99*BXXS5CVHI firmware and starts as often happens from Germany and non-branded models. The new features don’t seem particularly numerous: the September 2022 patch security improvements are coming, which the manufacturer has yet to detail, some bug fixes and general stability refinement.
Here we are mentioning all three models firmware versions below:
- Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra – G998BXXS5CVHI
- Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus – G996BXXS5CVHI
- Samsung Galaxy S21 – G991BXXS5CVHI
For the moment, the distribution seems to be only about the German market, but we are sure that in a few hours or at the latest days we will also be able to accept the latest patches in other regions. For new features or more relevant changes we will have to wait for the One UI 4.1.1 and especially the One UI 5.0, which will be based on Android 13 and perhaps is already being tested.
Updates with security patches from September 2022 started from Germany and may not have reached market smartphones yet. To check and try to update Samsung Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, Galaxy S21 Ultra, via OTA you can go to the system settings, following the path ‘Settings > Software Updates > Download and Install’.
