The Galaxy A53 5G has received a fresh firmware update in the US. Both carrier-locked and unlocked versions of the smartphone are receiving the update. The latest update brings Android September 2022 security patches for the device.
The carrier-locked Galaxy A53 5G’s recent software update has firmware version A536USQU3AVH1. The identical firmware update—version A536U1UES4AVH4—is being applied to the unlocked version of the phone. All US carrier networks, including AT&T, Bluegrass Cellular, Comcast, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon, and Xfinity Mobile, are currently receiving the upgrade.
The Samsung’s latest September 2022 update fixes more than 20 vulnerabilities: MTP driver issues have been fixed, memory access errors in various functions, improper access control, SystemUI privilege issues, issues in Photo Editor, a bug that could have allowed an attacker to initiate emergency calls remotely and beyond. Among the several vulnerabilities cited by Samsung, this time none is marked as critical.
