Samsung Galaxy S21 FE is the latest model in the Fan Edition variant, and it arrives on the market with pre-installed Android 12 and the One UI 4. Samsung has now kicked off the release of security patches in September 2022 (already detailed by the manufacturer). However, Big Brothers received the update a couple of weeks ago.

The release has taken hold from Brazil; in the coming hours/days, it will reach other markets – including European and the United States. The OTA file introduces firmware version G990EXXU3CVH7 and includes nothing more than this month’s Security Maintenance Release (SMR).
The Samsung’s latest September 2022 update fixes more than 20 vulnerabilities: MTP driver issues have been fixed, memory access errors in various functions, improper access control, SystemUI privilege issues, issues in Photo Editor, a bug that could have allowed an attacker to initiate emergency calls remotely and beyond. Among the several vulnerabilities cited by Samsung, this time none is marked as critical.
At present, the new update is not yet available for Samsung Galaxy S21 FE in Brazil. In any case, if you are the owner of this smartphone, you can manually check via the path “Settings > Software Updates > Download and Install“.
