Verizon Galaxy Note 20 Gets September 2022 Security Firmware In The US [Carrier-Locked]

Samsung has won the security patch race, installing the October security patch on its flagship devices in the past few days, starting with the Galaxy S22 and then followed by last year’s flagship Galaxy S21.

But Samsung is still unable to fully roll out the September security patch, which happens mostly with carrier-locked devices.

However, the South Korean giant has started rolling out the September 2022 Android security patch for the carrier-locked Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra on the Verizon network in the United States.

It seems pretty likely, therefore, that the new firmware – N981USQU3FVI5 for the Galaxy Note 20 5G and N986USQU3FVI5 for the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra- point to fix bugs. The new updates contain the September security patches.

 The device, however, the company is developing One UI 5.0 beta for the device and it will soon available.

According to Changelog the latest September 2022 update fixes more than 24 vulnerabilities: MTP driver issues have been fixed, memory access errors in various functions, improper access control, SystemUI privilege issues, and issues in Photo Editor, a bug that could have allowed an attacker to initiate emergency calls remotely and beyond. This time, none is marked as critical among the several vulnerabilities cited by Samsung.
