Another Samsung smartphone updates to the latest version of the Android operating system: this time it’s up to Galaxy A21, a mid-range device that is receiving the One UI Core 4.1, obviously based on Android 12 in the US.

After starting to send out the Android 12 upgrade to the US carrier-locked Galaxy A21 a week ago, Samsung is now doing the same for the unlocked model.

Samsung Galaxy A21 was launched in April 2020 with Android 10, but despite being a cost-effective product, a major new update is coming. The smartphone is in fact receiving the update to Android 12 with One UI Core 4.1 through the A215U1UEU7CVI3 firmware, which also includes the July 2022 security patches. The Galaxy A21 unlocked is finally upgrading from Android 11 to Android 12.

New features include the increased customization possibilities offered by the color palette, revamped widgets, improvements to dark mode, animations, and several other aspects of the system. System apps have also been updated, including the Camera, which now integrates portrait mode for animals and offers greater responsiveness in video recording, Gallery, keyboard, calendar, Samsung Internet Browser, and so on.

To check for updates, just go to Settings > Software Update, and then click on the Download and Install item, which will only be shown if the update is already available on your smartphone. Having been released with Android 10,this update could be the latest “major update” for Galaxy A21.
