Samsung One UI 5 The Most Personalised & Customise Mobile Experience Ever – Is Your Device Support?

Samsung has been changing its in-house user interface for a few years now; fortunately, the former Touchwiz has been replaced by the new One UI, which is sleeker and snappier than the old one and looks aesthetically nicer.

After the first advances in July and the beta program started in August, with a statement Samsung has finally officially unveiled its Android 13-based One UI 5, which will be released “in the coming weeks.”

The latest One UI 5 is much more than Android 13. As usual, the company has decided to provide the new version of its customisation layer with a large number of features and changes specifically aimed at the models that make up its catalogue. Many of these features were announced during SDC 2022, and we are going to review them all.

In order to make its users as comfortable as possible when using its devices, Samsung has made the decision to offer even more personalization possibilities with the One UI 5, beginning with communication.

One UI 5: Customisable Lock Screen, 3D Icons, Bixby Text Call, And More

One UI 5 is a new version of Samsung’s software that aims to provide the user with more choices over the interface’s look. To accomplish this, modifications have been made, such as adding a new lock screen that is entirely adjustable and enables you to select the watch type, the wallpaper, and other features by giving the lock screen a long push.

In addition, Samsung adds new icons to its applications that appear three-dimensional due to shadows and reflections that were absent from earlier versions of the One UI. The dynamic theme engine that was first released alongside Android 12 has also been updated, allowing users to select from a wider variety of colour schemes.

The new stacked widgets are also available in One UI 5, which frees up space on the home screen by grouping many widgets together. Users may switch between them by swiping right or left.

The privacy and security part of the settings program has also received attention from Samsung, which has combined the options for both categories in a single section.

One UI 5 also adds new health capabilities, such as Samsung’s Privileged Health SDK, which provides programmers more flexibility when developing apps that utilize the BioActive sensor found in the most recent Galaxy Watch models.

The new Bixby Text Call feature makes it possible to respond to phone calls without speaking. If you are unable to answer a call for any reason, you can type a message that will be converted to audio by Bixby and shared with the caller. The assistant will also transcribe the caller’s voice response, allowing you to read it.

The feature, however interesting, is currently only available in Korean (in Korea it had already appeared with the One UI 4.1.1), while in early 2023 it should also arrive in English. For the other languages, Samsung has unfortunately not released information.

But the similarities also extend to a mode similar to the Full Immersion one. Now the “Modes” feature allows you to create custom settings to filter notifications based on what you’re doing, from sleep and relaxation to exercise and driving. For example, while you sleep, you can turn off the sounds and turn on Dark mode can help you relax, or while you exercise, you can turn off notifications. Does it sound familiar? To us too.

Despite losing the name Bixby, Samsung’s Routine feature has instead been improved and now enables you to detect different conditions to initiate automation, such as connecting to a mobile hotspot or turning on aeroplane mode.

The widgets have also been enhanced, and a new widget that provides clever usage-based app suggestions and action recommendations have been included.

Samsung has confirmed that One UI 5 will begin its deployment at the end of October. The Samsung Galaxy S22 will be the first model to receive the update and will be followed by the rest of Samsung phones with the update to Android 13 confirmed.
