Samsung has recently published an article regarding the efficiency and accuracy of its Bioelectric Impedance Analysis (BIA) Sensor’s Body Composition results. The manufacturer has said that the Galaxy Watch with this BIA sensor will contribute to preventing and reducing obesity among its users. The Galaxy wearable will be able to measure the body mass, body water, body fat mass, and Body Mass Index (BMI) of the wearer.

Recently, the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition (AJCN) published a study that indicates that the Galaxy Watch will help prevent obesity which is responsible for approx 60% of Cardiovascular Disease deaths. The study shows that the Galaxy Watch provides an accurate measurement of body composition, exactly as the laboratory results. Its accuracy and efficiency clearly show that it is a reliable device.

This study has compared the Body Composition taken by the Galaxy Watch 4’s Bioelectric Impedance Analysis (BIA) Sensor and clinical measurement by a Dual-energy X-ray Absorptiometry (DXA) scan. In the testing, we have found that BIA is giving 97-98% of results accurately with two reference devices for skeletal muscle mass, basal metabolic rate, etc. It clearly shows how helpful the Galaxy wearable is in getting accurate info about the wearer’s health.
