for its Galaxy S22 smartphone in the US. What’s notable about this release is that the update is not tied to any specific carrier, meaning users of carrier-unlocked Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra can enjoy the latest security enhancements without any delay.

The April 2023 security patch has recently been rolled out for Galaxy S23, Galaxy Z Fold 4, and Galaxy Z Flip 4 smartphones.

Samsung’s latest update for its flagship Galaxy S22 series, which includes the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra, has been released with firmware versions S901U1UES2CWCC, S906U1UES2CWCC, and S908U1UES2CWCC. The update is currently available for Verizon, Xfinity Mobiles, and Spectrum Mobile unlocked devices.

As per the changelog of Samsung, there are over 50 patches included by Google; from those, 46 are high-security patches, four are critical, and one is moderate.

Among these were various flaws that could have been exploited to gain unauthorized access or control of the device. These vulnerabilities included issues with input validation in the CertByte function, out-of-bounds write in the libaudiosaplus_sec.so function, and improper authorization in SecSettings.

Additionally, Samsung addressed vulnerabilities related to improper access control in features such as SemClipboard, SLocation, and Telephony. The patch also fixed security loopholes in the TIGERF trustlet, a hijacking vulnerability in CertificatePolicy, and an improper authorization issue in the Smart Suggestions widget. By addressing these vulnerabilities, Samsung has taken steps to ensure the security and privacy of its users.
