Samsung One UI 6.0 ineligible Galaxy smartphones is here

Each manufacturer has its own update policies that determine how many updates each device will receive, whether they are security patches, OS updates, or UI versions. Even if a device has a strong firmware support or is sustainable, it cannot last forever. Today, we will examine the popular Galaxy devices that will not receive the upcoming Android 14-based One UI 6.0 updates.

As for Samsung, they promise four years of OS updates and five years of security updates to certain devices from the Galaxy S series, Galaxy Z foldable series, and Galaxy A series. In specific, Galaxy S devices launched after the Galaxy S21 series (included), Galaxy A33, A53, and A73 devices and later devices, and 3rd-gen and later Galaxy Z foldable devices are included in the four major OS updates list.

Samsung improves One UI Home launcher with the latest update

Let’s move our focus to today’s topic, the Android 14-based One UI 6.0 update. Informatively, BigG has launched Android 14 Beta 1 publicly, which will be available for AOSP in July maybe. Afterward, Samsung will provide One UI 6.0 update to its eligible Galaxy devices, most probably in August and September. The company will first launch the beta program and then move on to the stable version.

One UI 6.0 (Android 14) update will not available for these devices

It is highly possible that the One UI 6.0 update will first reach the Galaxy S23 series devices, followed by the latest Galaxy Z foldable, other Galaxy S phones, and some Galaxy A series devices. At last, the update will reach the rest of the eligible devices. However, there are some popular devices which are running on Android 13-based One UI 5 but will not get the next one, the One UI 6.0 update. Their names are listed below.

Galaxy S series

  • Galaxy S20 series (S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra)
  • Galaxy S20 FE and S20 FE 5G
  • Galaxy S10 Lite

Galaxy Note series

  • Galaxy Note 20 Series (Note 20, Note 20 Ultra LTE/5G)
  • Galaxy Note 10 Lite

Galaxy Z foldable series

  • Galaxy Z Fold 2
  • Galaxy Z Flip and Z Flip 5G

Galaxy A series

  • Galaxy A32 and A32 5G
  • Galaxy A22 and A22 5G
  • Galaxy A71
  • Galaxy A51

Galaxy Tab S series

  • Galaxy Tab S7 and Tab S7+
  • Galaxy Tab S6 Lite

Galaxy Tab A series

  • Galaxy Tab A8
  • Galaxy Tab A7 Lite

These are the devices that will not get the Android 14-based One UI 6.0 update because of being out of the eligible devices list.

  2. It’s really bad that they won’t update note series anymore. As samsung isn’t making note series anymore but they should keep remaining devices update so note lovers can experience same thing and they don’t have to dump their devices.

    Who agrees with me?

  3. They merged the note and the s series instead of calling it the note 22 they called it the s22 ultra so if note users want to upgrade to a new phone that’s square and has a spen they will just buy the ultra version of the s series
