Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy no longer exclusive to Samsung

Samsung’s latest flagship device comes with many upgrades, from those performance enhancements was the main attention grabber. The main component behind this was the processor. The company made a special processor from Qualcomm named Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. It is specially customized for Galaxy devices. 

After gaining much popularity, the customized processor of a snapdragon is also attracting other smartphone maker companies. It seems that this will no longer be exclusive to Samsung.

The “Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy” has instigated the belief that this distinctive edition might remain exclusively available for Samsung devices. However, renowned leaker Digital Chat Station (Via Android Police) holds a contrasting viewpoint, suggesting that the Korean giant’s monopoly over this processor is poised to diminish in the near future.

What makes the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy special?

As said earlier, it is a customized processor which is specially made for Galaxy S23 series devices; in this processor, Samsung has increased the CPU speed from 3.2 to 3.36 and also increased the GPU by 39 MHz, and also added some improvements for handling AI features.

The name of the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 contains a Galaxy tag name. It made us think that it would be only available for Galaxy devices. However, other top smartphone makers, including Xiaomi, ASUS, and OnePlus, are ready to get it on their devices. 

It is planned that the same processor will be used on the upcoming smartphones; however, it will be available with a little change in the name. It is expected that the Plus variant of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 will be available for other devices instead of the Galaxy tag. However, there is no information if the Plus version will have a higher clock than the Galaxy one or not.
