Breaking: One UI Watch 5 Beta program goes live for Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 5
Samsung has finally launched the WearOS 4-based One UI Watch 5 beta program for the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 5 series in the US and Korea. And also The company has finally begun the rollout of the first version of the new firmware, preceded by a few hours by the Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 5 app, intended to bring the new software to supported smartwatches.
One UI Watch 5 Beta Program
Before releasing the new firmware, strictly in beta, for its latest smartwatch, Samsung started the rollout, via the Galaxy Store, of the app intended to install the update on smartwatches. In order to access the download, you still need to register for the beta program using the Samsung Members app and choose the One UI Watch Beta program.
The new application does not seem to differ, at least from an aesthetic and functional point of view, from Galaxy Wearable, but it is possible that functions will be added in the future based on the needs of the new firmware. It should also be noted that the beta program for Samsung Galaxy Watch4 and Watch 5 is only accessible by owners of a Samsung smartphone and that the new firmware will not be available, at least for the time being, for LTE versions of the device.
Immediately after updating the application, the South Korean giant started the rollout of the new firmware, which can be downloaded via OTA and brings numerous new features. In fact, the official changelog is very rich and shows a series of features that will certainly be very appreciated by smartwatch owners.
Finally, remember that this is a beta firmware and could cause malfunctions, sudden restarts or increased consumption. At the moment Samsung has not foreseen the possibility to exit the beta program and return to the regular software, so please consider carefully before enrolling in the beta program.
