Galaxy Z Flip 5 Vs. Galaxy Z Flip 4:

Design

Starting with the design and the dimensions of the foldable devices, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 consists of a 165.1 x 71.9 x 6.9 mm resolution when you open the device and an 8.5 x 7.1 x 1.5 cm resolution when the device is closed, and it weighs 187g. On the other hand, the Galaxy Z Flip 4 comes with 165.2 x 71.9 x 6.9mm resolution when unfolded and 166 x 72.2 x 6.9mm when the device is folded and weighs around 187g. The Galaxy Z Flip 5 is smaller than the previous one.

Display

Like the previous model, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 features a 6.7 inches (17 cm) FHD+ with a resolution of 26 40×1080 pixels with a 2X Dynamic AMOLED internal display and a refresh rate of 120Hz, along with a 3.4 inches (8.6 cm), HD Super AMOLED external display.

Software:  

Both the foldable devices run on the same Android skin, which is One UI. The Galaxy Z Flip 5 is equipped with the new One UI 5.1.1 version, which is the Android 13-based operating system. It will receive four years of major Android OS updates and five years of security patch updates. On the other side, the Galaxy Z Flip 4 runs on the One UI 4.1.1, which is based on the Android 12 operating system. It also received four years of major Android OS updates and five years of security patch updates. But by seeing the One UI version, we can say that the Galaxy Z Flip 5 has a much better and enhanced OS. 

Performance

In terms of performance, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 is powered with the fastest and most energy-efficient Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset for enhanced functionality; it is available in 8 GB with 256 and 512 GB internal storage variants. Whereas the Galaxy Z Flip 4 has a 4nm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, and it comes with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB,256 GB, and 512 GB internal storage variants, respectively. It is clear by the comparison that the processor of the Galaxy Z Flip 5 is much better than the Flip 4, and also, the Z Flip 5 will provide much-enhanced performance.

Camera

The Galaxy Z Flip 5 has copied the details from its previous model. The foldable devices feature a 12MP f/1.8 wide primary camera with the 12MP Ultra Wide Angle (f/2.2) lens. But there is only a slight difference in the selfie camera’s focal length. The selfie camera of Z Flip 5 has a 10 MP with (f/2.2) focal length, whereas the Z Flip has a 10 MP selfie camera with ( f/2.4) focal length.      

Battery life:

Both the devices have the same battery life of 3700mAh with 25W wired fast charging along with 15W wireless charging support. The device will be charged 50% in 30 mins, along with 4.5W reverse wireless charge support. Moreover, the company should have made some enhancements to the battery life of the Galaxy Z Flip 5.
