Samsung ends Video Library App update support: Won’t compatible with Android 14

Samsung released a notice announcing that it has decided to end the Video Library app update and that compatibility support for the Samsung Video Library app update will be discontinued. This means that the new update to the Samsung Video Library app will not be available for download.

Samsung Discontinue Video Library App update Support

According to Samsung, the app update and compatibility support will be discontinued on January 1, 2024. Therefore, new features and services supported through app updates and compatibility will not be provided on the new OS, which means the app will be compatible with Android 6 to Android 13 and won’t be available for Android 14-based One UI 6. However, after the discontinuation date, you can continue to use the app you have been using on the OS versions or supported models listed below:

• Galaxy S10 Series

• Galaxy S8 Series

• And all models of the Galaxy Z/A/M Series

Samsung also shared the reasoning behind discontinuing the Samsung Video Library. Despite garnering a significant following and receiving ample customer interest, the app’s discontinuation has been attributed to two primary factors. Firstly, the app struggled with low usage and activation rates, indicating a diminishing user base. Secondly, distinguishing Samsung Video Library from other similar apps became increasingly challenging, potentially causing confusion among users. As a result, Samsung has made the tough choice to cease the service while appreciating the support and affection of its dedicated customers.
