Galaxy A55 Crushes A54 in Multi-Core Performance with Exynos 1480

Samsung is working hard on its smartphone unit, with the majority of upcoming releases in the affordable A series. The long-awaited Galaxy A15, Galaxy A15 5G, and Galaxy A25 have finally launched, and now it’s time for the one that is left behind, the Galaxy A55. The mid-ranger will be using Samsung’s own Exynos chipset range, the Exynos 1480. The performance of the processor seems to be improved compared to its predecessor’s processor, the Exynos 1380. The processor powering up the Galaxy A55 appeared in the Geekbench database, and the recorded core points made it evident that it would be performing better than the prior one.

Exynos 1480 vs Exynos 1380:

The Exynos 1480 CPU appears to provide superior multi-core performance than the Exynos 1380 one, as in the single-core CPU performance test, it received 1,180 points, and in the multi-core CPU performance test, it received 3,536 points. When you look back, the Galaxy A54 received 2,797 points for the multi-core test and 1,108 points for the single-core test. The Geekbench listing shows the model number of the CPU as S5E8845, which was reported to be equipped in the Galaxy A55.

Four powerful CPU cores clocked at 2.75 GHz and four energy-efficient CPU cores at 2.05 GHz are present in the Exynos 1480. It is equipped with the RDNA2-based Xclipse 530 GPU, which is reportedly far more potent than the Mali GPUs seen in earlier Exynos CPUs. Galaxy A55 leaked images revealed that it will be the first smartphone from the Galaxy A series to sport a metal frame. The Galaxy A55 will include stereo speakers, an in-display fingerprint reader, and an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. Most likely, the Galaxy A55 model will be launched in the first quarter of 2024.
