Samsung has finally started rolling out the February 2025 security update for its Galaxy devices in the US. The update hit the S24 series alongside its foldables, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6, a couple of days ago in the company’s home country, South Korea; the 2024 flagships have begun receiving the security update in the US.
While Samsung Galaxy S24 series and Samsung’s 6th gen foldable owners have to wait for a while to get the February 2025 security patch, the Verizon carrier-locked smartphones have just been spotted receiving the firmware in the US.
Alternatively, the update for the devices can be recognized with the S921USQS4AYA1, S926USQS4AYA1, and S928USQS4AYA1 version numbers. On the other hand, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 are spotted with the F956USQS2AYA5 and F741USQS2AYA5 build numbers.
Meanwhile, the patch; however, doesn’t bring any significant features or changes, but it primarily focuses on improving the overall system security by integrating various fixes from both Google and Samsung collectively for all the security vulnerabilities that were addressed in the previous versions. This helps users to have a more safe and secure experience, while also protecting the device against potential threats.
Apart from this, the update further provides a more smooth and efficient functionality by adding stability to the overall system behavior, integrating several performance and optimizations, and applying all the security patches that eventually lead to a more stable and optimized user experience.
