February 2025 update gets expanded to more Galaxy S21 units in the US

Right after delivering the February 2025 security update for the carrier-locked Galaxy S21 series devices in the US, the company now expands the patch for the unlocked units as well.

The February 2025 update for Samsung’s 2021 flagship S-series devices, S21, S21+ and S21 Ultra is identified with G991U1UESEGYA5, G996U1UESEGYA5 and G998U1UESEGYA5 build numbers, respectively.

The update; however, doesn’t bring any new features and changes; rather it primarily focuses on improving the device’s overall security and core functionality. It significantly integrates a lot of fixes for all the security vulnerabilities that were addressed in the previous version in order to provide a more safe and secure experience to the users, while also protecting the device against potential threats.

In addition, the update further allows users to have a stable yet efficient performance and functionality as it eventually adds stability to the overall system behavior and brings several performance optimizations.

For now, Samsung is rolling out the security patch for all the Galaxy S21 series owners that own carrier-unlocked devices in the US. at the same time, the timeline still remain unknown when the Galaxy fans will be getting the stable One UI 7 that runs Android 15 on top.
