One UI 8 could display call logs on the home screen with a new widget

Samsung is extending its stable One UI 7 update to its older Galaxy devices widely, meanwhile, a recent One UI 8 leaks suggest that it will bring the ability to display call logs right on the home screen via the Phone app widget.
Under the hood, the Korean tech giant has already started working on its next major software iteration, Android 16-based One UI 8. Now a tispter, @GerwinvGiessen, shared a text post on X, revealing that the upcoming major update will offer a convenient option to see call logs directly from the home screen via the Phone app widget.

Samsung with the One UI 7 offers two types of widgets in 2×2 and 4×2 sizes, which allow users to instantly check recent calls without even opening the applications. Presently, users can only see this widget on the home screen, and it is unclear whether the company will build a similar display option for the lock screen.
However, it’s quite early to trust blindly on this report since the One UI 8 is in alpha stage, which is the pre-beta version, so it’s possible there will be many changes before the official release happens. Recently, it also reported that the One UI 8 will bring a revamped weather app with a new UI and trigger a more sophisticated UI for the Samsung My Files app. It remains to be seen whether One UI 8 leaks will come into existence.
