Galaxy S24 & Galaxy Z Fold 6 users struggling with battery drainage after One UI 7 installation

Samsung has released the stable Android 15-based One UI 7 update to the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy Z Fold 6 in almost all regions, but the update is triggering a battery life crisis on these smartphones.

After upgrading the smartphones to One UI 7, Galaxy S24 and Galaxy Z Fold 6 users started complaining that they are struggling with battery drainage, which refers to the issue of a battery losing power faster than it should.

Users have filed social platforms such as Samsung’s support forums (2) and Reddit with the battery issue after installing the major One UI 7 update. A Galaxy Z Fold 6 user shared his battery experience on Reddit, saying he’s now ending the day with just 20 to 25 per cent battery, which is down from 45 to 50 per cent. On the other side, the Galaxy S24 smartphone users are also facing the same battery drainage issue after upgrading their device to the One UI 7 update.

However, battery drainage after installing the major update is not a major issue since it’s common for devices to consume a bit more power after a major OS upgrade due to the heavy optimisation in the background. Usually, the battery’s breathing returns to normal once the device optimizes the user’s usage pattern.

Currently, Samsung hasn’t released any official statement regarding the battery drainage issue on the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy Z Fold 6 smartphones, so it remains to be seen whether the company will take any action to fix this issue or it will fix itself after optimisation.
