Samsung’s Tri-Fold phone to feature Silicon-Carbon battery

Samsung is gearing up to introduce the Galaxy G Fold (tri-fold) smartphone later this year, which is now reported to feature a Silicon Carbon Battery.

A few months back, it was reported that the Korean tech giant would introduce the Silicon Carbon batteries in its next-generation Galaxy S26 series, which is supposed to launch in early 2026.

Silicon-Carbon batteries are a type of rechargeable battery that uses a silicon-carbon composite rather than graphite as the anode, and it is compatible with storing more power in the same space compared to traditional lithium-ion batteries.

Now, a tipster, Panda Flash, on X, shared a post claiming that Samsung’s upcoming tri-fold phone will feature a silicon carbon battery. This means that it could be possible that before Galaxy S26, the company could introduce a new battery with the tri-fold phone.

Recently, it was also reported that the company is planning to introduce new battery and charging technology with the Galaxy Z Fold 7, which is supposed to debut at the Galaxy Unpacked event in July 2025.

Noticeably, there’s no official report regarding this leak that has surfaced yet, so currently it’s quite tough to trust blindly in this expectation at least for now, but it will be interesting to see exactly what will happen next.
