Galaxy M53 pops up on One UI 8 internal test servers

Samsung is impressively progressing with the development of its latest Android 16-based One UI 8, while the new OS is currently running in beta phase on the Galaxy S25 series. At the same time, among several other devices, Galaxy M53 has just been spotted running the new version on the internal test servers.

Specifically, the Galaxy M53 5G appeared on the internal test servers running the One UI 8 build, where the latest firmware is identified with the version number M536SKSUBGYG2. At the same time, looking at the build number, it is clarified that the device belongs to South Korea, where it is named Galaxy Quantum 3.

Also, the test firmware is also spotted in other regions, including Europe and Asia, while the European variant of the Galaxy M53 carries the version number M536BXXUBGYG5.

On the other hand, this spotting eventually suggests that Samsung has already begun One UI 8 development for more of its eligible older-generation Galaxy devices, other than the Galaxy S25 family.

Since the newly launched Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 are the only devices to debut with the latest Android 16-based One UI 8 out of the box, hopefully, the newest OS is expected to attain its stability stage as early as possible if the progress remains constant.

However, the exact timeline of the One UI 8 release is yet to be known, but the progress tells us that the stable launch is approaching.

Well, Samsung significantly credits the faster progress of One UI 8 to the adoption of Google’s new Trunk Stable development model, where instead of preparing fragmented versions and then merging them, the company adopts a single core development criterion with a stable codebase, and all the features remain hidden under different flags until they are fully ready to be released.
