Samsung’s Project Moohan (XR Headset) FCC Approval, Confirms US Launch

Samsung appears to be nearing the launch of its Project Moohan (XR headset), as evidenced by its recent FCC certification in the US.

For so long, the Korean tech giant has been working on its first-ever Project Moohan to launch by December 2025. Initially, the company offered a first glimpse of the headset earlier this year at the Galaxy Unpacked event in January 2025 alongside the Galaxy S25 series launch. A few months later, some reports also suggested that the company could launch the headset during the July Unpacked 2025 event; however, the report didn’t come true.

Although Samsung has already hinted that it will launch its XR headset by the end of this year, it hasn’t revealed the exact timeline. Meanwhile, the headset has now appeared on the FCC certification with the dedicated model number A3LSMI610.

Apart from the model number, the listing revealed a few connectivity features of the headset, according to which it will have Wi-Fi 7 and will support three main Bluetooth modes: BR/EDR/LE. It is also expected to have more pixel density than Apple Vision Pro.

A few months back, the headset had already appeared on a Geekbench listing holding the same model number, SMI610, with the Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 chipset. Now it makes its existence on the FCC certification. The exact launch date has yet to be revealed, but the current listing hints at the near launch.
