Samsung Brings 500Hz OLED Gaming Monitor and Fresh Odyssey G7 Series to US Market

Samsung introduced the world’s first OLED gaming monitor that supports a 500 Hz refresh rate and also launched the new Odyssey G7 gaming monitor lineup in the USA. 

The Korean tech giant has launched three new gaming monitors in the USA market, which are as follows:

Odyssey OLED G6 

Samsung launched the Odyssey OLED G6 in the USA market, featuring a 27-inch QD-OLED monitor display with a QHD 2,560 x 1,440 resolution. It supports a 500 Hz refresh rate, which makes it the world’s first OLED gaming monitor compatible with this refresh rate.

It supports both AMD FreeSync Premium Pro & Nvidia G-Sync, has HDR10+ Gaming and VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification with a peak brightness of 1,000 nits, has OLED Safeguard+ technology integrated with a three-year warranty to prevent pixel burn-in, and has an adjustable stand & multiple connectivity ports, including HDMI 2.1 & DisplayPort 1.4.

Odyssey G7 (37 & 40 inch)

Samsung announced two new curved Odyssey G7 gaming monitors in two variants: a 37-inch model featuring a 4K VA panel with a 165 Hz refresh rate and a 40-inch model with a 21:9 aspect ratio and a 180 Hz refresh rate.

Apart from aspect ratio and refresh rate, both monitors have similar key features, such as AMD FreeSync Premium Pro certification, HDR10+ Gaming, and VESA DisplayHDR 600 support; two HDMI 2.1 ports & one DisplayPort 1.4 for connectivity; and various gaming features, including Off Timer Plus, Super Arena Gaming UX, Virtual Aim Point, and more. Samsung offered height-adjustable stands with swivel and tilt capabilities.

Price detail

The Odyssey OLED G6 (27-inch) monitor is priced at $1,000. The Odyssey G7 (37-inch) monitor costs $900, while the Odyssey G7 (40-inch) monitor is available for $1,200.
