Samsung is setting up to introduce its first tri-folding phone, to be named Galaxy Tri Fold, which is now anticipated to have a few exclusive One UI 8 features, as a new report says.
Recently, during the Q2 2025 earnings call, Samsung announced that it is all set to launch the Galaxy Tri-Fold phone by the end of this year; however, the company just hinted at the expected timeline, but the exact date has yet to be revealed.
Meanwhile, one of our reliable colleagues, SammyGuru, revealed that it has an exclusive look at some of the One UI 8 features, which are tailored specifically for the upcoming Galaxy Tri-Fold, which are as follows:
Enhanced Multitasking
According to the report, the Galaxy Z TriFold’s three phone-sized panels will let you run three apps side by side with the latest One UI 8. You can also drop a “split trio” onto the home screen, taskbar, or Edge panel and arrange it horizontally or vertically as per your convenience. It seems quite efficient for multitasking tasks.
Upgraded cover screen mirroring
Reportedly, the Galaxy Tri-Fold will have an upgraded cover screen mirroring, as it will span all three panels, with a smooth animation in the settings. The first two home pages appear next to each other on the larger internal display for a consistent layout, whereas a separated layout remains an option for you in case you want extra flexibility.
However, the current Galaxy foldables are also compatible with cover screen mirroring, but right now, it mirrors the cover screen and displays two pages side by side.
Since these details are based on a report and are not official, it remains to be seen whether the upcoming Galaxy Tri-Fold will have this expertise.
