Samsung’s August 2025 Security Update lands on Galaxy S21 FE models

Samsung’s timely monthly Android security releases are the perfect treat to watch for, and the company still remains the frontrunner when it comes to delivering the software updates among other Android brands.

Meanwhile, in its ongoing August 2025 security update rollout, the Galaxy S21 FE too makes its appearance as the device is getting the update.

While the Galaxy S21 FE is the strong contender to receive the latest One UI 8 version but not its siblings, the Galaxy S21 series, Samsung has started rolling out the August 2025 security update for the Galaxy S21 FE models for the first time, and it is currently available in Latin American countries, particularly in Brazil, and is expected to expand to more eligible countries over the next coming weeks.

More specifically, the latest firmware for the Galaxy S21 FE has been identified with the version number G990EXXSHGYH1 and integrates the new August 2025 security update, which, however, as per details, doesn’t bring any major features and changes; rather, it significantly focuses on improving the device’s overall security and core functionality to provide a more secure user experience while also protecting the device against potential threats.

At the same time, the update further adds stability to the entire system behavior and brings certain performance optimizations that in turn offer a smoother, more efficient, and more optimized functionality to the users.

Well, the latest August 2025 security update will gradually be rolled out to even more Galaxy devices in the coming future. At the same time, Samsung is also progressing with expanding its latest Android 16-based One UI 8 beta programfor more eligible Galaxy devices after the Galaxy S25 series, which is testing beta 5 and is scheduled to receive the stable One UI 8 version in September.
