WhatsApp Adds Voice Message Option for Missed Calls

Meta-owned WhatsApp is rolling out a new feature called “Voice message for missed calls,” which lets you leave a voice message when someone misses your call.

According to a new report from WABetaInfoWhatsApp has released a new update for Android beta users via the Google Play Beta program with the dedicated version number 2.25.23.21. With this new update, it is introducing a feature that will allow you to record a voice message in case the recipient misses a call.

The new voicemail message for the missed calls feature will be convenient whenever a call is not answered by the recipient, and you have to quickly leave a voice note to communicate the message instead of waiting for another time to call.

The key aim behind designing this feature is to make it easier for you to stay in touch even when calls are missed. Now, as soon as a call goes unanswered, you will see a specific option at the bottom of the calling interface, which prompts you to record and send a voice message instantly. Noticeably, the shortcut is also visible directly in the chat where the missed call occurred, providing an immediate and context-aware way to communicate.

However, the feature is currently rolling out for a select group of beta users, but it’s expected to be available to even more people over the coming weeks.
