Samsung is gearing up for its first XR headset, codenamed Project Moohan, which is now anticipated to launch next month at an affordable price.
The company has already teased the upcoming XR headset on various occasions: for instance, initially, it offered a first glimpse of the headset earlier this year at the Galaxy Unpacked event alongside the Galaxy S25 series launch. Months back, Google held its I/O event, at which it announced that Samsung would launch its Project Moohan based on Android XR “later this year.”
Last month, during the 2Q25 Earnings Conference Call, Samsung officially announced that it will launch its XR Headset by the end of this year; however, it hasn’t revealed the exact launch date. Meanwhile, a new report from the Korean media claimed that the XR headset will finally go official on September 29. Samsung is expected to offer two motion controllers with the XR headset
Reportedly, if the timeline holds, the company may release the headset in Korea on October 13, with a gradual rollout to other markets in the following months, and is also aiming to ship around 100,000 units in 2025.
According to the report, Samsung could price the XR headset between KRW 2.5 million and 4 million, which is almost $1,800 to $2,000. However, these are not official prices, so final figures may vary depending on regional taxes and exchange rates.
Recently, the XR headset appeared on the FCC certification, which confirmed the US launch. It remains to be seen whether the leaked price details will come true.
