Samsung releases August 2025 security patches for Galaxy Watch6 and Watch6 Classic

Since the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 series is another strong contender for the ongoing Wear OS 6-based One UI 8 Watch beta program, which is currently available for Galaxy Watch 7 models, Samsung has started rolling out a new software update for the 6th generation Galaxy Watches.

Beginning from its home country, South Korea, Samsung is delivering a new update for the Galaxy Watch 6 and Watch 6 Classic, which significantly integrates the August 2025 security patch and has been identified with the version numbers R950XXS1BYH1 and R960XXS1BYH1, respectively.

However, currently, the newest update has been spotted only for the Wi-Fi variant, and it’s expected to reach LTE units over the coming days. Also, the update will be expanded in the global market shortly.

More specifically, the latest update, however, doesn’t mention the addition of any major features or changes; instead, it apparently focuses on adding various key security-based improvements in order to provide a more secure user experience while also protecting the smartwatches from potential threats. At the same time, the update further adds stability to the entire wearable’s performance and functionality for more efficient and smooth operations.

Well, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 and Watch 6 Classic models are yet to receive the One UI 8 Watch beta program, and the stable rollout is already scheduled to begin by the end of this year. The newest One UI 8 Watch version will apparently add some more advanced and exceptional features, including health-based apps such as Bedtime Guidance, Running Coach, Vascular Load, and Antioxidant Index, that are powered by Wear OS 6.
