Samsung is setting up to launch the Galaxy Tri-Fold by the end of this year and is also expected to ship limited units of the device, as the report says.
Back in July this year, Samsung launched the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 foldable phones at the Galaxy Unpacked event. Meanwhile, under the hood, it is already working on its first-ever tri-folding phone, to launch soon.
Recently, it was reported that the company will launch Galaxy Tri-Fold, XR Headset, and Smart Glasses anytime by the end of September; however, the official launch date has yet to be revealed.
A new report from ETNews revealed that Samsung has already begun mass production preparations for its upcoming tri-fold phone and is also planning to produce around 50,000 units. Although the company applied a kind of strategy (shipping 500,000 units) back in 2019 when it was about to launch the original Galaxy Fold.
It seems that the company is considering taking a cautious approach, as it has yet to gather consumers’ feedback for the new form factor. However, the approach is quite practical, since once the company gets to know how the market responds when the device becomes available, it could expand production.
However, the official statement regarding the 50,000-unit production for the Galaxy Tri-Fold has yet to be revealed, so it remains to be seen whether the report will come true.
