Samsung Allegedly Planning Double-Chipset Strategy for Galaxy S26 Series

Samsung is already preparing to release its next-generation premium models, the Galaxy S26 series, which is also rumored to receive a major rebranding, consisting of the Galaxy S26 Pro, Galaxy S26 Edge, and Galaxy S26 Ultra. Meanwhile, a recent report claims that it’s now confirmed that Samsung is planning to equip two chipsets for its upcoming flagships.

A while ago, there were headlines that Samsung is confined to powering its in-house 2 nm-based Exynos 2600 chipset within the Galaxy S26 series; at the same time, the higher-end model, the Galaxy S26 Ultra, is tipped to feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC. Reports say that the company is perhaps using both the chipsets.

According to the latest report via Sammobile, Samsung decided to move forward with the same strategy of equipping both the Exynos and Qualcomm chipsets on its upcoming Galaxy S26 series. Basically, the company has (kind of) made a confirmation that the base model, the Galaxy S26 Pro, and the middle one, the Galaxy S26 Edge, will feature Samsung’s own Exynos 2600 chipset, while the high-end unit, the Galaxy S26 Ultra, will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC.

At the same time, the Exynos 2600-powered models are rumored to be available in the Asian and European markets, while the Qualcomm-featured Galaxy S26 Ultra units will primarily be available in the USA. However, it’s next to impossible that the Ultra variant could make it to the Exynos 2600 chipset, but the other two units could arrive with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC.

Well, it looks like Samsung is perhaps planning for a performance upgrade with its next-generation Galaxy S26 series; meanwhile, the overall scores seem impressive, suggesting the next S series to be charged up with exceptional performance alongside other significant features.
