Right after delivering the One UI 8 beta 7 for the Galaxy S25 series, Samsung has started initiating the September 2025 security update for its Galaxy devices, with the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 being the first ones to receive the update.
Beginning with its home country, South Korea, Samsung has started rolling out a new software update for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 that significantly integrates the latest September 2025 security update; it’s expected that the update will reach more countries over the coming days.
The latest firmware for both the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 has been identified with the version numbers F966NKSU4AYI1 and F766NKSU4AYI1, respectively.
However, the monthly security updates are only meant to strengthen the device’s overall security. Samsung’s September 2025 security update looks significant, as it also adds a few essential features alongside security enhancement.
Specifically, Samsung has finally integrated Google Finance within the Now Bar, allowing users to check stock prices without unlocking their phone. At the same time, the changelog further highlights that in any case there’s a significant change in a stock that the user has added to the watchlist in the Google Finance app; the changes will be reflected in the Now Bar at the end of the trading day.
Not just this, the September update further adds the most productive yet useful Samsung DeX, while also allowing users to add DeX’s widget on the home screen.
Other than that, the update brings stability to the entire system behavior, aims to improve the overall device’s security, and brings performance optimizations in order to provide a more secure user experience, while also protecting the device against potential threats.
