Samsung releases One UI 8 beta 2 for Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5

Samsung started rolling out the ongoing One UI 8 beta program for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5 last week, and now, the foldables are already receiving the second beta update.

Starting with the home country, South Korea, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5 are getting new software, One UI 8 beta 2, and are identified with the version number ZYI6, while the update is expected to reach more eligible countries shortly over the coming future.

More specifically, being a beta update, the second beta phase brings more essential bug fixes and other improvements. The update apparently fixes the issue where the phone keeps resetting while in use; it fixes an issue where the DeX settings were not maintained when updating from a previous OS to One UI 8 using the FOTA method; and lastly, it fixed an issue where the multi-window is triggered to be terminated whenever the camera is running in a KakaoTalk chat room.

Other than that, the beta update significantly integrates the latest September 2025 security patch that eventually offers a more secure user experience while also protecting the device against potential threats.

Since the One UI 8 beta program is the perfect opportunity for the beta participants to enroll and get to experience the new features and enhancements ahead of the official release via the Samsung Members app, the One UI 8 beta program for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5 has entered into the second beta phase, with the stable version being set to be released this month, starting with the Galaxy S25 family and followed by more models over the course of time.
