Samsung Begins One UI 8.5 Testing on US Galaxy S25 Ultra

Samsung has begun testing the latest One UI 8.5 firmware for the Galaxy S25 Ultra in the US, hinting at the speedy internal development.

Currently, Samsung is busy rolling out its ongoing Android 16-based One UI 8 update. Up to date, it has already delivered the stable update for several devices, including the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24 FE, Galaxy Z Fold 6, Galaxy Z Flip 6, and more.

Last week, it was reported that Samsung has started firmware testing for the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro. Before this, a few other proofs also confirmed that One UI 8.5 is in the works for the Galaxy S26.

Meanwhile, now, a tipster, AkhileshKumar, shared a post on X, revealing that he has spotted an internal One UI 8.5 build for the US Galaxy S25 Ultra model. The latest internal build holds the S938USQU5CYI4 PDA version number, whereas the previously spotted build seems to be S938BXXU5CYIA.

All of these back-to-back spottings signal the swift progress in internal development; however, the company is supposed to introduce the One UI 8.5 version in early 2026 with the Galaxy S26 series.

According to the recent leaks and reports, Samsung, with the One UI 8.5, could introduce a revamped In-Call screen UI, allowing you to resize quick settings tiles, bring notable tweaks to the My Files app, and more. Since there’s not a single official statement regarding the One UI 8.5 new features and improvements that have come into existence yet, it remains to be seen whether the leaked reports will come true.
