Samsung’s One UI 8.5 seems to bring back a major feature in Weather app

With the conclusion of the One UI 7 rollout a few weeks ago this year, Samsung is rapidly onto the One UI 8 stable release and has already started the process. Simultaneously, leaks and rumors have already started circulating online regarding the secret development of the next OS, One UI 8.5, and now, it’s about to bring a major feature back, which was removed in One UI 7.

Despite being a massive update, several users via Reddit and the official community forum pinpoint that Samsung’s One UI 7 certainly removed the pollen tracking feature from the Weather app.

Meanwhile, it looks like the pollen count feature is coming back within the Weather app with a new leaked One UI 8.5 build. Basically, a dedicated pollen card is spotted in Samsung’s Weather app, where users will again notice tree, ragweed pollen, and grass via a color-based leaf icon with their severe levels, from None, Low, and Moderate, in order to provide caution for people having allergies. At the same time, for more detailed information, tapping on any of the three leaves will direct users to Weather.com. This includes forecasts for the upcoming days. Not just this, One UI 8.5 further brings some fresh changes that are inspired by Apple’s iOS, including the three-dot menu, the floating back arrow, and the search icon.

However, it’s important to note that, currently, it is too early to predict whether Samsung wishes to roll out the pollen card feature in the Weather app to the entire Galaxy audience or keep it reserved for certain regions.

Since the revival of the pollen card feature is spotted in the latest One UI 8.5 leaked build, it looks like Samsung is focusing more on fixing things; we will get a better picture as the update inches closer.
