Samsung Drops Hint About Exynos-Powered Galaxy S26

Samsung is gearing up for its next-generation Galaxy S26 series to launch in early 2026. During the Snapdragon Summit 2025, it hinted at the possibility that it could use an in-house Exynos chipset for its upcoming series.

The Snapdragon Summit kicked off in Maui, Hawaii, and the first day of the event ended with a few notable questions regarding the Galaxy S26 chipset. Usually, TM Roh, head of Mobile Experience, has often emphasized Snapdragon “For Galaxy” chips at events, including Snapdragon Summit 2024. Still, this time, he neither confirmed nor denied (via) that the Galaxy S26 would use Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5

Samsung’s cold reaction hints at the possibility that it is considering using an in-house Exynos 2600 chipset for the Galaxy S26, at least in a few selected regions. The company appears to be placing high hopes on the 2nm GAA-based Exynos 2600 chipset that is about to enter mass production

If this happened, it would be efficient for Samsung, as replacing Qualcomm chips with self-developed silicon on a global scale for the Galaxy S26 would help the firm save costs and focus resources on other upgrades instead of just on performance.

However, Samsung has yet to release any official statement on whether it will use the Exynos 2600 to power the next-generation Galaxy S26 or will go for the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. It remains to be seen exactly what will happen next.
