While the month is about to end, Samsung is still continuing with the September 2025 security update rollout for its Galaxy phones, tablets, and foldables. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S21 FE units have started receiving the update in the US.
Samsung’s September 2025 security update is now available for the Galaxy S21 FE ahead of the Galaxy S21 family. More specifically, the update has been spotted in the US for the Verizon-locked Galaxy S21 FE 5G and Galaxy S21 FE 5G (2022) models; it’s expected to expand to more units across the country over the course of time.
The latest firmware for the Galaxy S21 FE and S21 FE (2022) is identified with new version numbers, G990USQSJHYI3 and G990U2SQSHHYI3, respectively.
However, according to the details shared by Samsung, the September 2025 security update doesn’t bring any major features and changes; rather, it significantly focuses on improving the device’s overall security and core functionality. It packs a host of bug fixes for all the security problems addressed in the earlier version in order to provide a more secure user experience, while also protecting the device against potential threats.
At the same time, the update further adds stability and reliability to the entire system behavior for efficient functionality and brings certain performance optimizations to provide a smooth and stable experience to the users.
