Samsung’s next-gen Galaxy S26 Ultra is already anticipated to feature a new design and notable camera upgrades, but still, it seems to be the hardest Ultra model to accept.
The Galaxy S26 Ultra is supposed to launch in early 2026, along with its sibling models, the Galaxy S26 Pro and Galaxy S26 Edge. To date of writing, Samsung hasn’t released any official report regarding the specifications, design, and upgrades of these upcoming devices, but leaks and rumors are continuously surfacing online.
Meanwhile, a well-known tipster, @UniverseIce, shared a long text post on X, forcing us to believe that the upcoming Galaxy S26 Ultra might be the hardest Samsung flagship to accept, since a few of its aspects, for instance, design and camera, are not as satisfying as they should be. The tipster stated, “The Galaxy S26 Ultra has not only lost its aesthetic appeal but also fallen behind in specifications—it has lost both.”
According to the post, the smartphone is reported to adopt an island featuring the ultrawide, main, and periscope sensors. Whereas the ToF, LED flash, and telephoto camera would not be a part of the bump.

- Xiaomi 17 Pro Max – 5x 50MP 1/1.95″ F2.6 GN8
Reportedly, the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s camera bump thickness could be 4.5 mm, which the company could utilize to upgrade the camera hardware. On the comparison side, Xiaomi 17 Pro Max has a bump of 4.75 mm and boasts a 50 MP camera with 5x optical zoom.
The tipster also mentioned that the company’s large, wobbly camera bump is a failed design, so it should focus on improving its lagging camera performance instead of aesthetics to stand strong against competitors such as Xiaomi and Apple.
However, the official camera module, specifications, and design of the device have yet to be revealed; it will be interesting to see whether the company will come up to expectations.
