Samsung removed One UI 8 update for Galaxy Z Fold SE from its server

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold SE users, the company has pulled the new Android 16-based One UI 8 update after reports of several issues, including a touchscreen bug.

Samsung has already started rolling out the stable One UI 8 update to eligible Galaxy devices widely. To date, several smartphones have already received the update, including foldable phones, such as the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6. While the Galaxy Z Fold SE’s case is different from other foldable phones, the company has pulled the update for this model.

The company’s generally smooth and seamless One UI 8 update has hit its first problem, as a few Galaxy Z Fold SE users who installed the update are facing issues right after unlocking the device. Users reported that touch input becomes unresponsive or erratic, making it difficult to interact with the screen. According to them, the only temporary fix is to lock and unlock the device again, which restores normal touch function.

Now, to minimize impact, Samsung decided to pull the update specifically for the Galaxy Z Fold SE model from its servers, which means that users who hadn’t already downloaded the package will now need to wait until a patched version is released.

Noticeably, users who have already installed the update may need to rely on future hotfixes or minor patches to correct the issue. Fortunately, other Galaxy device users who have already installed the One UI 8 haven’t reported any bugs or issues.

However, it remains unclear when Samsung will restart the One UI 8 rollout for the Galaxy Z Fold SE model, but it’s expected that the company won’t take long to address the issue.
