Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 is compatible with Linux Terminal apps

Samsung’s newly launched Galaxy Tab S11 series is compatible with the Linux Terminal app, enabling the tablet to run a full Debian-based Linux environment in a virtual machine.

Earlier this month, Samsung launched its latest flagship, the Galaxy Tab S11 series, at the online Galaxy event, which includes two models: the Galaxy Tab S11 and the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra. The company offered great specifications, decent design, an upgraded camera, and advanced features.

Apart from all these novelties, the series also has a notable capability: support for the Linux Terminal app. A new report from one of our reliable colleagues, Android Authority, confirmed that the recently launched Galaxy Tab S11 supports the Linux Terminal app.

The device must have two basic compatibilities for the Linux Terminal support, which are as follows:

Several Snapdragon-powered devices, such as the Galaxy Z Fold 7, did not support Linux Terminal, while Samsung’s in-house Exynos-powered Galaxy Z Flip 7 supports the app.

The Galaxy Tab S11 is powered by the Dimensity 9400+ processor and runs the Android 16-based One UI 8 software version, which makes it completely compatible with running Linux apps. A Reddit user also revealed that the Linux Terminal app runs seamlessly on the Galaxy Tab S11, while another user shared ways to manually enable graphical Linux apps.
