Samsung Galaxy users, T-Mobile has expanded its satellite service limits to selected third-party apps on Galaxy smartphones to make the service more convenient and enhance the experience.
Back in July this year, T-Mobile introduced its direct satellite-to-phone connectivity service called T-Satellite in the USA for compatible Galaxy phones. Initially, the service was limited only to calls and messages; now the carrier has expanded its support to selected third-party apps, which are as follows:
- Google Maps, WhatsApp, X, AccuWeather, AllTrails, CalTopo, and OnX
T-Mobile has announced the expansion of its Starlink-powered satellite-to-phone service to these popular third-party apps in the USA. However, users must subscribe to T-Satellite and have a compatible phone to benefit from this service.
Apart from the above-mentioned apps, T-Mobile’s customer service app, T-Life, is also supported. Now, on WhatsApp, users can use satellite connectivity to send and receive images, messages, voice notes, audio & video calls, and even group chats. It allows users to explore feeds and post GIFs, photos, text, and videos on X.
The service already supports native apps on Galaxy smartphones, such as Google Messages, Phone, and Weather. The carrier has made the T-Satellite Service free for most T-Mobile subscribers, but those who don’t have this service in their plans can opt for it just for $10 per month.
