Samsung’s long-awaited Galaxy XR seems all set to launch this month. A new report revealed the announcement and pre-registration date of the device.
For so long, the Korean tech giant has been working on its XR headset, initially codenamed Project Moohan. Recently, the company confirmed the official name for the device, Galaxy XR, via a Bluetooth certification listing.
Several leaks and reports have already predicted the launch timeline for the device. Meanwhile, a new report from Chosun claimed that Samsung will announce the upcoming Galaxy XR on October 21 and will open pre-registration from October 15.
The device has already appeared on multiple certifications, for instance, the FCC, which confirms the US launch.
Last month, Qualcomm teased the XR headset at its Snapdragon Summit 2025 event. According to previously leaked details, the device is equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 chipset, integrated with 16GB of RAM. It will be based on Google’s Android XR platform and support Gemini AI. It’s expected that Samsung’s XR Headset and Smart Glasses will be controlled by the Glasses Manager app; however, it’s not officially confirmed yet.
To date, Samsung just confirmed that it will launch the XR Headset by the end of this year but has not confirmed the exact date. It remains to be seen whether this report will come true.
