Samsung has been working on its next-generation flagship Galaxy S26 series for a long time and has now started developing One UI 8.5 for it.
Earlier this year, Samsung launched the Galaxy S25 series, and now it is looking forward to launching the Galaxy S26 series as the successor. Initially, the company was expected to ditch the Plus variant from the upcoming Galaxy S26 series and replace it with Edge. However, a recent report revealed that the lineup will include four models, including the Plus variant, which are as follows:
- Galaxy S26 Pro, Galaxy S26 Plus, Galaxy S26 Edge, and Galaxy S26 Ultra
These models are supposed to run One UI 8.5 out of the box. Meanwhile, a new report says the company has started developing the latest software version (One UI 8.5) for the Galaxy S26 Edge and Galaxy S26 Ultra for multiple countries, with a dedicated version number, as mentioned below:

The software development hints that the company is speedily working on the series to launch as soon as possible in early 2026. The report hasn’t revealed any specific details regarding the software development for the the Galaxy S26 Pro and Galaxy S26 Plus, although it is expected that one or both of them will emerge on the software database shortly.
