Samsung details the latest October 2025 Security Update package for its Galaxy devices

Samsung has just published the details of the latest monthly Security Maintenance Release (SMR) package, the October 2025 security update package for its Galaxy devices, which consists of various patches from both Google and Samsung collectively.

The new monthly security release suggests that Samsung has kept all the flagship phones, foldables, and tablets, alongside a few rugged and enterprise devices, in the monthly update list, while all the mid-tier and affordable models are placed in the quarterly update list, which has become comparatively huge.

Meanwhile, Google patches come with a few essential CVEs for the latest October 2025 security update, where Google has added 14 high-level CVEs, and 6 CVE items are not applicable to Samsung Galaxy devices. It’s important to note that this time, Samsung Semiconductor CVEs are not included with the latest security bulletin.

At the same time, accompanied by Google’s patches, Samsung Mobile has also provided 20 Samsung Vulnerabilities and Exposures (SVE) items, including Galaxy WatchesSamsung DeX, Contacts, KnoxGuard, and Knox Enterprise, which eventually improve the device’s overall security and core functionality and add stability and reliability to the entire system behavior for a more secure and smooth user experience, while also protecting the device against potential threats.

Well, for now, Samsung is focusing on delivering the latest Android 16-based stable One UI 8 update to all the eligible Galaxy devices; the company will begin the October 2025 security update rollout over the course of time.
