One UI 8.5 could add a new AI-powered automatic answering of calls on Galaxy phones

Samsung’s One UI 8.5 version is already in the works, while the latest report has suggested that the company is internally testing the latest build for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 units. Meanwhile, a new leak claims the company is supposed to introduce a new calling feature with the upcoming update, providing convenience in answering calls.

Basically, Samsung is looking towards improving the Galaxy AI’s Call Assist feature to provide a more enhanced calling experience to the users, according to the post shared by GalaxyTechie on X.

“Auto answer with AI,” a new function, appears to be added within the Galaxy AI Call Assist feature, where the users will be able to easily manage calls when they are busy or don’t want to get disturbed.

At the same time, when the Auto answer with AI feature is used, the words spoken by the other person will automatically be sent to the servers for further processing to offer responses, but they’re not stored by Samsung. In simple words, the calls will be answered with AI automatically after ringing for a certain amount of time. However, it’s not certain that the feature can be used for certain types of calls or categories or for all, and it works automatically with do not disturb mode as well.

Other than that, the newest Auto Answer with AI feature will provide more control to the users over incoming calls while also differentiating between which calls to answer and which not to.

Nevertheless, Samsung’s One UI 8.5 is further rumored to bring a new Pixel-inspired Automatic Call Screening feature for more advanced spam protection. Well, One UI 8.5 is slowly and steadily shaping up into a more significant upgrade than One UI 8.0; it will be interesting to see how Samsung implements features and changes within the upcoming build.
