It looks like Samsung’s upcoming One UI 8.5 is turning out to be a more massive update than the standard One UI 8 version for the entire Galaxy ecosystem. Since leaks have already started suggesting that Samsung is cooking very exciting changes and new features for the upcoming One UI x.5 release, a new leaked build suggests an addition of a calling feature, which resembles Pixel.
A few days ago, the latest One UI 8.5 version was reported to run Android 16 QPR2, instead of Android 16, and now, it looks like Samsung is working to introduce a new Automatic Call Screening feature to Galaxy smartphones; however, the company is eyeing more improvements for this feature in the future, according to the report presented by Android Authority.
Basically, with the courtesy of a leaked One UI 8.5 build, which was spotted earlier, Samsung appears to be introducing an automatic call transcription that is more or less identical to Pixel’s automatic call screening feature, where calls will be automatically detected and answered on its own.
Now, a newer leaked One UI 8.5 build has surfaced, where the latest string codes depict that Samsung is perhaps working on taking this functionality to another level by adding multiple user control options that are used to customize whenever the automatic call screening feature is currently in use. At the same time, the Korean-based string codes were also spotted; translating them includes options like
- All numbers
- High, for all unknown numbers.
- Medium, which is for spam and scam numbers, international calls, and numbers with blocked caller ID.
- Low, for spam and scam numbers.
However, it’s possible that these four options will initially be limited to South Korean Galaxy phones, while in other countries there will be only three main options for automatic call screening. Well, it remains to be seen how Samsung will implement the new automatic call screening feature.
