Samsung ended the One UI 8 Watch beta program for the Galaxy Watch 7 models a couple of days ago and is already rolling out the stable version. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Watch 5 series is getting a new update, but not what users have expected!
Specifically, the Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro models have started receiving a new software update in the US (on Verizon carrier), which, however, only integrates the August 2025 security patch and is identified with the version numbers R905USQU1CYI1 (40mm) / R915USQU1CYI1 (44mm) and R925USQU1CYI1 (45mm), respectively.
Since the latest update is just a minor security patch, it doesn’t bring any major features or changes. The current software update significantly adds upgrades for various existing features, including health-centric ones, for a smooth and efficient health tracking.
At the same time, the update further provides several performance improvements, which lead to healthier wellbeing, while also integrating the updated Android security patch that will improve the device’s overall functionality.
Nevertheless, the Galaxy Watch 5 series is expected to receive the latest Wear OS 6-based One UI 8 Watch version; however, the exact date is still unknown. Also, Samsung has already announced that the stable One UI 8 Watch will be available for all the eligible Galaxy Watches by the end of 2025.
Well, Samsung is constantly working on bringing advanced technology via its Galaxy Wearables, which are supposed to detect major health issues, such as heart failure and weak brain health, as early as possible.
