Samsung to use Exynos 2600 for the Galaxy S26 Ultra

Samsung is gearing up to launch its next flagship Galaxy S26 series in early 2026, and the Ultra variant of the lineup is now highly anticipated to be powered by the in-house Exynos 2600 chipset.

​For so long, the Korean tech giant has been working on the Galaxy S26 series, initially, which was supposed to be launched in early Q1 2026; however, a recent report suggests that the launch could be shifted to March 2026. The series will include three models, which are as follows –

​A new report claims that Samsung is considering using its in-house Exynos 2600 chipset to power the Galaxy S26 Ultra in South Korea and Europe. While the US, Japan, and China will be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.

​Reportedly, according to the internal testing results, the Exynos 2600 surpassed Apple’s A19 Pro, powering the iPhone 17 Pro Max, in terms of NPU performance by over six times.

The chipset also outperforms the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 Elite by about 30%. Coming to the GPU performance, which is up to 75% better than Apple’s and 29% than Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 Elite. The CPU delivers a 14% higher multi-core performance than the A19 Pro.

​These impressive performance scores suggest that Samsung could definitely use its chipset for the Galaxy S26 models. However, the Base and Plus variants are already rumored to be based on the Exynos 2600 chipset. Since Samsung has yet to release any official statement regarding this report, it remains to be seen what will happen next.
