Samsung is gearing up for the Galaxy S26 series and is reportedly introducing models under this lineup with an old naming scheme.
Following the previous Galaxy S-series launches, the upcoming Galaxy S26 series was supposed to launch sometime in early Q1 2026; however, a recent report claimed that the company could shift the launch to March 2026.
Ritually, Samsung introduces three models under the S-lineup, including the Base, Plus, & Ultra. Previously, it was reported that it would not be the case with the Galaxy S26 lineup, as the company is considering rebranding the models with new names, according to which the Base will be named “Pro” and the Plus will be replaced with Edge.
Now, a post on X, shared by a reliable tipster, @heyitsyogesh, claimed that Samsung is back to the old naming scheme for the Galaxy S26 models, which are as follows –
- Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26 Plus, and Galaxy S26 Ultra
If the report comes true, then there will be no Galaxy S26 Pro and Galaxy S26 Edge; however, it’s not officially confirmed yet. The post also mentions that the company is expected to have given up on thin and light phones at least for now.
Since Samsung has yet to release any official statement regarding all of these claims and predictions, it remains to be seen whether the leaks and reports will come into existence.
