Samsung has started delivering the October 2025 security update for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5, right after updating them to the latest Android 16-based One UI 8 update.
Basically, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5 gained access to the One UI 8 update across the globe; meanwhile, Samsung is now starting to dispatch a new software update for the folding phones, which significantly integrates the October 2025 security update and is identified with the F946NKSS5FYJ3 and F731NKSS5FYJ3 version numbers, respectively.
Noticeably, the update is currently available in Samsung’s home country, South Korea, and it is expected to expand to even more countries over the coming weeks.
Essentially, the October update, however, doesn’t bring any major features or changes and is just a minor patch; instead, the update apparently focuses on improving the device’s overall security, core functionality, and performance to provide a more secure user experience, while also protecting the device against potential threats.
At the same time, the update further adds stability and reliability to the entire system behavior, and brings certain performance optimizations, which in turn provide a smoother, stable, and efficient experience for the users.
Well, the One UI 8 was the previous update for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5 models that significantly added some new and useful features, while also bringing upgrades for productivity, security & privacy, and accessibility that take the entire user experience to the next level. For now, users can download the latest October update on their devices through Settings >> Software update >> Download and install.
