Samsung is looking to extend its October 2025 security update for Galaxy devices to more countries. Meanwhile, a few phones, including the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Flip 7, Fold 6, Flip 6, and Fold 5, as well as the Flip 5, have already started receiving the update in the US, in addition to South Korea.
Basically, Samsung began the October 2025 security update distribution for its folding phones, where the latest update for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 has been identified with the F966USQS5AYJ3 and F766USQS5AYJ3 version numbers, respectively, and is now available in the US for the Verizon-locked models.
At the same time, the update for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 carries the version numbers F956USQS2CYJ1 and F741USQS2CYJ1, respectively, while on the other hand, the latest update for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 comes with the F946USQS6FYJ3 version, and Flip 5 carries the F731USQS6FYJ3 version.
It’s worth noting that the latest October firmware for all foldables is already rolling out across the US and is currently available for Verizon-locked models. Its wider availability is expected over the coming weeks.
Meanwhile, the new software, however, is just a minor security patch that doesn’t bring any major features or changes, but it significantly focuses on improving the device’s overall security, core functionality, and performance to provide a more secure user experience, while also protecting the device against potential threats.
Other than that, the update further brings certain performance optimizations and adds stability to the entire system behavior for an efficient, smoother, and next-level experience for the users.
